10am – 5pm
United Response, Teddington
Join us for a wonderful day of textile art with expert weaver Hilary Charlesworth.
In this full day course held in the lovely studio at United Response, Teddington, Hilary will teach you all the skills necessary to produce your own woven designs. Using a simple frame loom and a variety of yarns, you’ll spend the day learning how to weave a sampler of techniques, both traditional and 3D.
All materials, including loom and yarns, are included, so you’ll be able to continue practising at home on your loom.
The workshop is suitable for both beginners and those with some prior experience of tapestry weaving.
We’ll provide lots of tea, coffee and cake throughout the day and there will be a break for lunch, when you can either eat a packed lunch or treat yourself at one of the many cafes in Teddington.
Hilary is a very experienced teacher who’s been spinning and weaving for almost 30 years and has been featured on Kirsty Alsopp’s “Homemade House”.
“wonderful day. Hilary is a great teacher – patient, clear expectations and lots of humour”
“super class – great range of techniques and very absorbing”
In the event that the class is unable to go ahead due to the ongoing covid-19 virus situation, we will of course offer all participants the option of an alternative date or refund.
