Sat 5th Sept 2020
10.30am – 4.30pm
Market House, Kingston
This absorbing full day workshop will introduce you to an age-old book binding technique.
By sewing multiple sections together, you will create a beautiful binding with rounded spine.
At the end of the day, you will have a lovely finished hard backed book to take home, together with the skills to make more.
During the class, Mylyn McColl will teach you how to use a range of traditional tools and materials and how to prepare and stitch the pages. You will then cut boards and cover them with either bookbinding cloth or decorative paper, in order to create a beautiful hard cover finish for your book.
This workshop is suitable for all levels, as no prior experience of bookbinding is required.
All materials and use of tools are included, together with lots of tea, coffee and homemade cake.
The workshop will be taught by multi-award winning professional bookbinder, Mylyn McColl.
Please note that the workshop is held in the upstairs room and the building does not have lift access.
“Fab workshop with a great teacher. Thank you!”

Please note that the room is upstairs, with no lift access.
In the event that the class is unable to go ahead due to the ongoing covid-19 virus situation, we will of course offer all participants the option of an alternative date or refund.
