15th July – 12th August
Mondays 4pm – 6pm

We are delighted to be running a series of workshops over the summer in conjunction with local disability charity, United Response. The classes will be open to both individuals supported by the charity and also adults and children (age 10 and up) in the local community. All workshops are suitable for beginners, may be taken individually or on a continuing basis and will be held in the studio at United Response on Field Lane, Teddington.
Rag Rugging 15th July and 22nd July
Using recycled fabrics, hessian and a wonderful ‘rag rugger’, learn the skills to create your own rug, cushion or wall hanging. Either bring along your own materials or use ours (or maybe a mixture of both).
Wet Felting 29th July and 5th August
Learn the basics of wet felting by creating a decorative picture using wool roving or combed wool fibres. You will explore various techniques for design effects. Using just water, a little soap and lots of rubbing and agitation, watch the wool fibres transform magically into your own piece of textile art.
French Knitting 12th August
Learn how to knit with this easy and fun technique, then use it to make a fabulous creation to take home! Starting with just a cardboard tube, some wooden sticks and a ball of yarn, we’ll show you how to make your own tools and then create your own French knitted work of art!
