Sat 9th Nov 2019
10.15am – 1.15pm
The Railway, Teddington
In this relaxed Saturday morning workshop, expert knitting teacher and knitwear designer Suzanne Strachan will introduce you to a range of stranded knitting techniques, giving you the skills to create knitted garments with a variety of patterns, using more than one colour of yarn at a time.
During the class, students will be taught several different techniques for stranded knitting in the round, including Fair Isle, Scandinavian and other traditional knitting styles.
The workshop is designed to be taken either on its own or together with the class on steeking on the following Saturday, 16th November. Students will work a sample in the rounds, which will include steeking stitches in preparation for cutting the fabric (covered in Part 2).
Attendees should be of an intermediate level in knitting and need to bring 2 balls of double knit or worsted weight yarn in contrasting colours and circular or double pointed needles relevant to the weight of yarn.
Tea, coffee and lots of homemade cake are included to help concentration!
